Study Abroad Packing Checklist

Choose your luggage 1

It is critical to bring the proper luggage – make sure your primary gear is adaptable, simple to carry around, and large enough to store all of your belongings. A four-wheeled stroller bag is ideal since it takes the weight off your wrist. If you’re going to get a backpack, select one with wheels for hands-free movement.

Organize your stuff 2

Prepare for your journey by gathering all of your necessary paperwork and making all the preparations you’ll need on the day of your arrival. Use this checklist as a guide:
Upload copies of documents, images, and music to the cloud.
Save all critical contact information and contact data in a Google document.
Check your flight’s weight limitations, entertainment, and food options.
Make arrangements for airport pickups and drops in your home and host countries.
Download a messaging or online calling programme to communicate with relatives and friends through Wi-Fi.
Add something to make your baggage stand out.

Carry-on luggage 3

Let’s start with something simple – your carry bag.
Keep your passport, visa, and enrollment letter with you at all times.
Keep your boarding permit in your carry-on bag once you’ve received it.
Keep part of the host country’s money.
It’s a good idea to keep a diary and a pen on hand to record your experiences.
Keep any prescription medications you may have.
Make sure your phone, charger, and other items, such as cameras and batteries, are in your handbag.
In case your luggage is delayed, bring one or two sets of clothes.
For travel, bring a book or an e-reader. Keep your headphones as well.
Face wipes, gum, hand sanitiser, a travel cushion, and an itinerary are all recommended.
You should keep your reading glasses and sunglasses.
If you are heading to a colder country, bring mittens and a hat.

In your checked baggage 4

A copy of all vital documents.
Contact lenses, solutions, and feminine items are examples of toiletries.
Dress appropriately for the weather in the hosting country.
A useful first-aid kit.
If you are staying with a host family, bring some souvenirs for them.
A sun/rain umbrella.
Running shoes, flip sandals, and collegiate attire.
Extra cash for unexpected expenses.
A dictionary of languages.
Any books you could need for your research.

Remember that some things are best left at home, so to prevent wasting money or having problems with customs, don’t pack any of the following 5

Plant products or spices.
Stationery, but it is also available locally.
A lot of money. Bring only what you may require, as well as some emergency cash.
Products or movies that have been pirated.
Anything that may be construed as a weapon.
